Beneficiary Name Verification (from 5 October 2025)

From 5 October 2025, all SEPA payments will include an automatic check to verify that the beneficiary’s name matches the one registered with their bank.

If the details don’t match, you may see one of these messages in e-banking:

  • Close matchThe entered name almost matches the name of the beneficiary – [Name Returned]. If you proceed without making changes, the funds may be transferred to the wrong beneficiary.
  • No matchThe entered name does not match the name of the beneficiary registered for this account number. If you continue with the payment, the funds might be transferred to an account with different beneficiary name than listed. Please check the payment details with the beneficiary to avoid errors or possible fraud.
  • VoP not possibleIt is not possible to check the account number (i.e. IBAN) against the indicated beneficiary's data. If you continue with the payment, the funds might be transferred to an account with different beneficiary name than listed. Please check the payment details with the beneficiary to avoid errors or possible fraud.

✅ Always double-check payment details to ensure your funds reach the correct account.
